mom and dad
So this past week has gone by so very fast but at the same time it has been so very good.
Angalina and her family is doing great. I really love them and i love teaching them. her kids are so amazing and they want this gospel. her oldest daughter carries the book of mormon around with her every where.. So funny thing happened on sunday. so sister low and i were a little up set because they did not show up for church. durign sacrement sister low discovered that we had five missed calls from them. so i took the phone and went and called them. anganilas husband left them and they were walking to church. so there is this sweet family in the ward who have a van so i asked her is she could help a sister out and so the race was on. we jumped into the van and were off like batman, Robin, and batgirl. Just so you know i was the batman of the group. it was sweet. so end of story they made it to church.
All of our other investigators have been hard to get a hold. its amazing to see how hard satan is working to push them down. thank goodness there are angels that are stronger then Satan's little Dominions.
I had an exchange with sister hatch. she is just so very amazing and i am so proud of all her hard work. it was really cool because she expressed her love for the mission and how it has really changed her. i love that.
sister low and i are doing good. and i am excited to have another transfer with her. (big cheesy happy face)
Im doing good. i had a visit with doctor perez and guess what! im still crazy ok just joking. everything is going good. no changes to my medication or anything. SWEET AYE. but this last week i have been thinking a lot about he person that i want to become and i have found that i really want to be like the brother of jared "And the Lord said unto him: Because of thy faith thou hast seen that I shall take upon me flesh and never has man come before me with such exceeding faith as thou hast; for were it not so ye could not have seen my finger. Sawest thou more than this? The results of this faith And because of the knowledge of this man he could not be kept from beholding within the veil; and he saw the finger of Jesus, which, when he saw, he fell with fear; for he knew that it was the finger of the Lord; and he had faith no longer, for he knew, nothing doubting. oh man do i have a long way to go."
ok time for some stories:
first the other day sister low and i went tracting and she had put on two different shoes it was really funny
you know your a missionary when you tell a member that i'll back you up and then go stand be hind their car! (yeah that was me)
There was a really great lesson the other day that i learned in ward council. The bishop was sharing a story from his mission and at the vary end stated. Most of the time the people that we teach on our mission are there because we need them. Not the other way around. Any obedient missionary can teach people but it takes a specific investigator to teach a missionary." Oh man is that so true i guess that i never thought of it like that before. It so changed me.
So let me tell you about the little trip that sister low and I took last week. My plan was to tell you about it then but I figured one book was enough so I saved it for today. Once upon a time there were two sister missionaries that went to visit a member at the hospital. So they jumped in their car, call for permission and they were like two bunnies on sugar. Once they got to the hospital they went right to the front desk and asked for which room Glory McGowen was in. The slightly middle aged day-time security officer jumped on to one of his five computer monitors. It was exciting to watch how each monitor’s screen was broken into little compartments that show every hall in the hospital. As this man, who’s name I can not remember, stated where we can find Glory, he says “make sure that we get on the green elevators”. So once again we were off like little bunnies on sugar and soda pop…. Im not sure if you have ever seen the movie over the hedged but there is a part of the movie where a squirrel is on Mt. Dew.. To this squirrel everything seems to be in slow motion but the world around him he is jumping off the wall like a crazy squirrel on Mt. Dew. This was the seen at the hospital. Ok we did not run but we could see the finish line and were excited to see our dear Glory who lied in a bed forced to eat hospital food that had not flavoring. We soon got to her room and enjoyed a very nice chat with Glory. Both sister low and I were grateful that we left her in high spirit.
As we walked down the hall talking about Glory we soon we hope back on the elevators…..from hell! We step in and the first think in both sister low’s and my head is these elevators do not look the same. Hmmmm. Oh well “it all leads to the same place” one of us said… or so we thought. We then pressed the floor number. I first guess is that we would press number 1…
At this point we find ourselves stuck in the twilight zone and had not a clue if we would ever see the light of day again. You see Number one took us to a place with white walls and looked like something from a scary movie. We both look at each other and then stick our heads out of the elevator to see if there was anyone around, but there was no one in sight.
So we stay on and try number two. It was like we had never left the first floor that we found ourselves at. This time there was a little laughter followed by a quote from the movie Shrek “pick number two my lord” this was not as funny as we thought it was. Once the doors on the elevator closed, we looked at the panel of numbers and see one letter… ahh the letter M… that must stand for Main Floor but we soon found out that it stranded for Misery nightmare a the hospital. We pressed the letter with confidence. And the elevator once again started to move. One the motion secede the door begin to open slowly and there was a loud sounds all around us. Everything on the other side of the door was dark and clod looking. We had found ourselves in hell.
By this point we had no clue what needed to be done. With our mouths open wide we took a slow step back and slowly turned to each other. Thoughts of our final moments in the life passed though our minds. Were we really ready to meet our maker? The door soon shut and we once again found ourselves look at a panel of numbers and one letter (m) we both quickly say lets go back to where we started… Good old number 6. The elevator started to move once again and the doors opened and we found ourselves safe back where we started. We then jumped off because we did not like that ride. And as we stepped in to the hall we could see the green elevators. The moral of the story is when someone tells you to make sure that you use the green elevators you better or you might end up in hell!
ok i have to go.. i love you guys so much . till next we Cho
love sister goetz
