mom and dad
So first let me tell you about the amazing families that we are teaching. Sister Low and I have been so very blessed.
So first we are still teaching Anganlina and her family. They are so amazing. Every time we come by the two youngest tell every one to turn off the TV and can because the church ladies are here. Joel the youngest boy is trying so very hard to be a good example and he loves to hear me rap. This past week he asked me to make him a rap up and this is how it me. “Joel knows how to go to school. Joel knows how to go to school in the city, city of aloha… he keeps on learning…he keeps on learning. So now every time that we come by he asks me to rap for him. They are just such an awesome family. I know that this is going to be a slow growth for them but I really have a strong feeling that once they really feel the spirit that they are going to bloom. Oh man I really love being a missionary!
Tasha and Marshal are doing good. I know that they really have a lot of trust in the lord and I can see the changes that are happening in their lives. Right now they are having drama with the property manager and might even be moving to Utah. I really hope that everything works out for their best. The think with them is that the spirit really has testified to me that the elect are out there and if they are willing they will find the truth.
So let me tell you about our magic brownies… now Im not talking about brownies with drugs but of the most magical brownies that there ever was…. Brownies that have been bless by the spirit. So one of the less active people that we have been teaching has been in the hospital and we wanted to bring her a treat. So Sister Low has a great recipe for blond brownies… but they did not get cooked all the way. We put them back in but nothing would help.. We did not want them to burn so we made a conscious decision to stop and get some ice cream to cover but the imperfections of our treat. That’s when the miracle took place. As we were driving Sister Low saw a girl at a bus stop and said that we should stop and talk with her. So we pulled into a parking lot and went to talk with her. After talking with her a little we shared with her the book of Mormon and how it can really help her in her life. She opened up to us and started to cry. The spirit was so strong you could cute it with a plastic butter knife. The young ladies name is Shang and she told us (before we left) “this may sound wired but I had a dream about two women coming and preaching to me about God”. I think about that time that sister low’s and my mouth hit the pavement. Its amazing to see that the lord puts us in the right place a the right time.
Sister Low and I had the longest companion inventory ever. Man sometimes I really do not like this growth idea but I know that I want to become better so I need to find the joy in the journey. I want us at the end to say that we both loved our companionship and that it was the best of our whole mission. we are growing together and that is good
We had an exchange with sister Roberts and sister Erickson and let me just tell you that they are both so very amazing.
I would say that the thing I learned from elder bednars visit is is that I need to be more humble. I know that the Holy Ghost is guiding us but I have to do my part. I also want to work on asking questions that allow people to use their agency more. I don’t ever want to make those that I’m teaching feel like a object and not a child of god.
The one thing I love about personal revelation it that even if the topic that is being dicussed has nothing to do with your personal questions that they will be answered in the lords time and we have to be open to the answer and follow the will of the father. I have a lot to learn
I really am so very grateful that we had a chance to have Elder Bednar, Elder Ringwood, and Elder Malm come and talk with us. We are really blessed.
OK so I wanted to share with you something really cool that I found in the scriptures. Let us go to the book of job 23:2-6.
“Even to day is my complaint bitter: my stroke is heavier than my groaning. Oh that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat! I would order my cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments. I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would say unto me.
Will he plead against me with his great power? No; but he would put strength in me.
I’m so grateful for the love that he has for us”
Love sister Goetz
